Join us for an engaging conversation with Bob Babbitt and Parker Olenick.
Parker Olenick, 16 years old was born with Cerebral Palsy, which affects his balance and gait. He is an all-around competitive adaptive athlete in both Sled Hockey and Surfing with Paralympic goals in both sports. He is the goalie for the San Diego Ducks Sled Hockey team where he plays for both the junior and adult teams.
When Parker is not training or competing in hockey, he can be found surfing all over the coast. His passion for riding waves landed him first place in the 2019 Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships' Junior Division and is a recipient of the competition's much-coveted “perfect 10” score. Captain of the Stoke for Life Junior Adaptive Surf Team, Parker continues to spread the word about adaptive sports and setting goals while sharing his own journey.
CAF has support Parker with training, travel and competition grants in both sports which has helped him achieve goals and realize his dreams. Parker recently fundraised $10,000 for CAF, when he set out on a 100-mile ocean paddle for the 2020 CAF Community Challenge.
